Frequently asked

Questions, answered plainly.

What years do you teach?

As a boutique, expert-led English specialist, we focus on senior students. We currently work with students in Years 11 and 12, with plans to extend into Year 10 in the future. For Year 11, we build the analytical and writing foundations that set students up for a strong Year 12. From there, we go deeper — close textual analysis, essay technique, and serious HSC preparation built around how the exams are actually marked.

How big are the classes?

Our classes are capped at ten students. Small enough that every student gets attention, big enough that the discussion stays interesting.

Do you follow my child’s school curriculum?

Our core programme is built around the NSW English syllabus. For school-specific or text-specific classes, we tailor the curriculum to align with your child’s assessment schedule so what they’re learning with us directly supports what they’re doing at school.

Are classes online or in person?

All classes are in person at our centre in Chatswood. English is a subject that thrives on conversation, debate, and thinking out loud. That’s hard to replicate through a screen. We want students in a room together, working through ideas face to face.

What does a typical week look like?

Students attend a weekly small-group class and a fortnightly one-on-one session. The group class is for deep textual work and discussion. The one-on-one is for targeted feedback on their writing.

My child is already doing well. Is this still worth it?

That’s exactly who we work with. Most of our students are already capable in English — they’re not failing, they’re just not being pushed. They come to us because they want the kind of expert-led teaching, feedback, and challenge they can’t always get in a classroom of 25+ students. The difference between a Band 5 and a Band 6 is rarely about working harder; it’s about learning to think and write with more precision.
